ILLEGAL ALIENS
~ IA Links Of Interest ~

On March 1st, only one day after Edgewood star ANNA NICOLE SMITH appeared before the U.S. Supreme Court, another huge media event took place at Robert DeNiro's Tribeca Cinemas in New York. A screening for potential distributors of a 15 minute promotional reel of Edgewood's new breakout film, "ILLEGAL ALIENS", turned into a media feeding frenzy. The event originally planned as a low-key industry screening became MOBBED with paparazzi, print reporters from THE NEW YORK TIMES and THE NEW YORK POST and THE DAILY NEWS, along with numerous entertainment magazines. Video crews swarmed about as electronic media from ENTERTAINMENT TONIGHT, MSNBC, EXTRA, ACCESS HOLLYWOOD, E!, VH-1, THE INSIDER, INSIDE EDITION and virtually every other entertainment news media showed up for the screening.
Basking in the glare of the cameras were the film's stars JOANIE LAURER, LENISE SORÉN, DENNIS LEMOINE, WOODY KEPPEL, and KEVIN MCGUIRE. Also running the gauntlet of media while entering were the film's Director DAVID GIANCOLA, Executive Producer JOHN JAMES as well as Producers MARY BETH FRENCH and ZORINAH JUAN.
It was up to David Giancola to face the press and announce that ANNA NICOLE SMITH was not going to attend the screening due to security concerns. During her appearance at the Supreme Court the day before, some on-lookers and reporters were trampled over and hurt and her team could barely get inside the court. It was a mutual decision made at the last minute by both Edgewood and HOWARD K. STERN, Anna's manager, to not have her attend, as both parties agreed that security had grown into a real concern. "As both a business partner and friend, I am very concerned about Anna's safety." Giancola was quoted as saying as he made the announcement to over 40 media outlets. "Anna is very excited about "ILLEGAL ALIENS" and will continue to promote the film in the future and as it is released" reminded her manager, Howard K. Stern. Anna is a producer and investor in the film, along with her son, DANIEL SMITH.
The screening, delayed a bit by the media crush, unspooled to a packed and enthusiastic audience, who roared with laughter and applauded loudly at the end. Edgewood is now in talks with numerous distribution companies for a hoped late summer '06 release of the film in theaters everywhere!
