Edgewood's Very Own John James
Gets a Summer job!

Mr_j
All of us here at Edgewood are a little sad to not see Mr. James (executive producer extraordinary) around the office, but are happy to see that he is acting up a storm on the set of “All My Children” in New York as “Jeff Martin” (Erika Kanis “loving” husband). Also, we should point out that however hard we try we still cant get him to tell us how the season will end, so here's to the surprise.

Keep up the great work John!

Edgewood INSIDER
Fall 2006

By Carson Markus (Entertainment stylist and Indy film fan)

Oh boy summer has just FLOWN by and I’m sorry I never got a blog out to everyone till now! SORRY! (Mary Beth has chewed me out good – it will never happen again)

The buzz surrounding Edgewood’s latest film “ILLEGAL ALIENS” has continued to increase with the release of a Teaser for the film (downloadable on this website) that Premiered on ENTERTAINMENT TONIGHT!

The film, a satirical sci-fi/action/comedy has become a true juggernaut for the studio. Director DAVID GIANCOLA is obviously frazzled, supervising the film’s 300+ Special Effects Shots while working with a team of Sound Mixers working in three shifts to finish the film.

While Mr. Giancola has no time for me I have talked with Executive Producer JOHN JAMES and Producer MARY BETH FRENCH. Mr. James tells me they have already turned down many offers that came in right after the New York City Tribeca screening of a 16 minute promo reel; “We know we have something very special in this film, it has tested through the roof with audiences and we have done our homework with retailers who say the film hits their DVD sweet spot for sales” said James. “We also have historical data on similar films and even if we had half the success of these examples, the film will be a huge hit. The press always seems hungry for news and images of the film’s stars ANNA NICOLE SMITH and JOANIE LAURER. Producer James is splitting his time between producing “ILLEGAL ALIENS” and playing a recurring role on the top Soap Opera “ALL MY CHILDREN” aside diva SUSAN LUCCI.

Director DAMON LE MAY is editing the DVD extras for his gory and strangely funny (think “Shaun of the Dead”) horror film; “ZOMBIETOWN”. The film will have a DVD release date soon and is now selling around the world to TV stations. Check out the trailer on the Download section of this site (IF you have the stomach for it.) Director LeMay is letting his audience in on how some of the gory effects were created, pretty neat stuff.

SPECIAL NOTICE TO MYSTERY SCIENCE THEATER FANS! Last week, on Edgewood’s Stage A, the cast and director of the cult classic “TIME CHASERS” came together to film new interviews for an upcoming DVD Anniversary Re-Release of the Director’s cut of the film. The cut, seen only during the film’s initial Theatrical Release has been restored and will be presented in it’s original 1:85 Theatrical Aspect Ratio on the DVD along with a ton of Extras. MATT BRUCH, BONNIE PRITCHARD, GEORGE WOODARD, MICHAEL J. VALENTINE, and Director GIANCOLA all ruminated about the origins of the film; it’s current cult following, and the joy and pain of having the film “MSTied”. The DVD will be available soon through Elite Entertainment.

GOSSIP ALERT: Yes, ANNA NICOLE SMITH, the star of Edgewood’s “ILLEGAL ALIENS” is pregnant – no we are not sure who the father is. Anna seems to be having a good time with the whole thing leading the gossip rags along by the nose. She is currently in hiding and while I know Director DAVID GIANCOLA and Producers MARY BETH FRENCH and JOHN JAMES know where she is - (they talk all the time) they ain’t tellin’ me.

That’s all for this update, thanks for reading and I hope that, if you live in another state that you get to VERMONT to see the fall foliage – there is nothing quite like it. I hope you all have a great fall and I promise I wont miss another issue and will keep you updated on the goings on at Edgewood both in front of, and behind the screen!

BEHIND THE SCENES PICS OF
"ZOMBIETOWN" SPFX SHOOT!
***WARNING SPOILER ALERT AHEAD***

explod I was lucky to be invited to the shooting of some really cool 2nd Unit Special Effects shooting for Writer/Director Damon LeMay's "ZOMBIETOWN" on Edgewood's Stage A. In the climax of the film the last survivors make a desparate attempt to save the town through some amazing pyrotechnics.

making the explodThe scene was covered by three cameras (one running at 300 frames per second!) and was a literal blast to watch. The crew spent the whole day for less than 30 seconds of finished film.

Very cool stuff!!!
